Like to be an ASSISTANT junior basketball coach? Now’s your chance. We’re asking every coach at our club to recruit an assistant coach for their team. You could be a parent, relative, friend, past or current player.
Any current players who become assistant coaches will have their basketball fees waived for the season.
As an assistant coach, you’ll:
✅help with training / game day
✅share ideas
✅step in if the coach is sick or away
✅be a second set of eyes
✅ensure the club is volunteer compliant when coaches appoint fill-ins.
To become an assistant coach, we’re looking for people who:
✅Are at least 15 years old
✅Have a genuine desire to learn how to coach basketball
✅Are committed to attending all (or most) training sessions and games for the winter 2023 season
✅A Working with Children’s Check (if eighteen years of age)
✅Basketball Victoria Member Protection declaration.
Along with the coach, our club’s coaching coordinator – Chris Scarafilo – is available to help you. You’ll also have access to our online training resources. And you’ll have the opportunity to attend Community Coaching Course at Keilor Stadium in May and August.
We’re a community-based family-friendly club with a great culture. We encourage you to step forward and become actively involved. It’s extremely rewarding.
