Basketball is an excellent recreational activity for enjoyment and health. It’s also a lot of fun to watch! However, sometimes the behaviour of a participant (Player, Parent, Spectator, Coach, Administrator or Official) ruins the fun, or even the safety, of others.
Under a new Respect for our game initiative, Basketball Victoria (BV) has outlined what is and isn’t acceptable when interacting with referees.
Behavioural Technical Foul Interpretationhttp://basketballvictoria.com.au/behavioural-technical-foul-on-player-coach-or-bench/Respect Our Game Ruleshttp://basketballvictoria.com.au/respect-for-our-game/Keilor Basketball Association (KBA) has introduced a Participant Behaviour Policy which provides a clear and comprehensive statement of expectations.
When an individual receives a behavioural technical foul, it will be centrally recorded. If an individual incurs three (3) behavioural technical fouls they will be suspended for one (1) game. (Behavioural Technical Fouls are those that show dissent or disrespect towards officials for their calls/non-calls).

These Codes are designed to assist everyone to safely receive the maximum benefit from their involvement in basketball.
Remember that breaches of code not only undermine the enjoyment & safety of the sport -they can also lead to sanctions being applied to individuals, teams or even the Club. In such circumstances – ignorance of a Code is not accepted as an excuse.
Please read the above policies and the Code(s) that apply to you before the new season commences, even if you have read them before!Player’s Code of Conducthttp://www.foxsportspulse.com/club_info.cgi?c=1-24-47193-0-0&sID=70549Parent’s Code of Conducthttp://www.foxsportspulse.com/club_info.cgi?c=1-24-47193-0-0&sID=70544Coaches Code of Conducthttp://www.foxsportspulse.com/club_info.cgi?c=1-24-47193-0-0&sID=70548Spectators Code of Conduct:
